WEIR:LIVE Bringing Stockport Together Under the Arches

Around 4,000 people came through the arches at Stockport’s historic Weir Mill for WEIR:LIVE, a free day of music, dancing and community spirit, celebrating the opening of the £60m regeneration of the grade 2 listed mill.

Produced by Laura Graham for Capital&Centric, the event was designed to bring local people together, showcase Stockport’s DJ andcreative talent, and give the community the opportunity to explore and enjoy the new space.

And Stockport certainly showed up!

The programme featured 13 DJs, an energetic takeover by family rave concept: The Playhouse Project, Stockport’s Pop Vox choir, face painters, dancers and lots more.

With a line-up celebrating local talent and a fantastic turnout from the community, WEIR:LIVE was about much more than launching a development. It was about bringing people together, celebrating Stockport and giving Weir Mill a little soul.
